NAIL DETECTOR

Turn your iPhone into a powerful tool for finding nails and other magnetic metal objects hidden within your walls and support beams.

In order for this app to effectively function, it is necessary for the nails in your walls to be magnetic and your device (iPad, iPhone, or iPod) to have a built-in magnetometer. Please note that this app does not have the capability to detect non-magnetic objects, such as aluminum or wood studs.

DISCLAIMER: The performance of this app may be affected by various factors including the construction of the wall, the presence of a phone cover, and the material of the nails in the support beams.

INSTRUCTIONS

<ol>
 <li>If your device has an external case, please remove it before using this app.</li>
 <li>To ensure accurate readings, calibrate your device's magnetic sensor by moving it in a "Figure 8" pattern. Then tap the "Intensity" reading displayed on the app to set the baseline to zero.</li>
 <li>When using this app to detect nails, follow these guidelines: 
 - For iPhone 5s and below, sweep the right edge of the device against the wall. 
 - For iPhone 6 and above, sweep the top edge of the device along the wall.</li>
 <li>If needed, you can determine the location of the magnet (compass magnet) on your phone by using a magnetic material. This will help you mark the spot accurately when you find a nail in the support beam.</li>
